Thanks to his care and attention, the sheep would grow strong and beautiful, chubby and portly. One day, the owners of the animals got together to discuss about how to rightfully thank this man, who had been so kind with their animals. They saw that he sported a rather old and worn-out jacket, which certainly would not have been good enough for winter, so they had another one sewn for him. It was bright red, and they thought it would have made him happy. When it was ready, they went to the highest sheepfold and hanged it outside the front door, hiding close-by to see how the Salvan would have looked wearing it.
That same evening, the little man noticed the red jacket hanging from the door; he wore it and was as happy as Larry. Suddenly, however, he stopped jumping around for joy, took the jacket off and started crying. That jacket was, in fact, red and not black, which was the colour of his beloved sheep. He went back to the woods sobbing and, from that day, nobody saw him any longer.
The various tourist offices organise excursions aimed at the discovery of this and other mythical figures.
