King Ombro e Ombretta
High above in the Val Pettorina, north of the Serrai of Sottoguda, stood an enormous bronze door, which led to the mythical reign of King Ombro. He lived in a marvellous alabaster castle, whose entry was only granted to very few people.
His daughter, Ombretta, was really pretty, always cheerful and smiling, and was loved by all the citizens. Only her stepmother felt resentment towards her, for she saw what an impediment she was to her own daughters, themselves not as charming as she was. The Queen had tried to marry them off several times, but to no avail.
